What is Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Also known as multi factor authentication, this method grants you access to an account after successfully presenting two (or more) factors to an authentication system.
Ok, let’s break that wordy definition down. Two factor authentication is an extra layer of security. Typically, you would enter your password to access your Crypterium account. However, with email two factor authentication on, you would also have to provide a special code sent to your verified email address.
How to activate Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Turning on Two Factor Authentication on the Crypterium Wallet is a straightforward process. Launch the app on your iOS or Android device and head to the Profile section. Click on Settings and press “2-Step Authentication (2FA). Take a moment to read the instructions on how the process works.
Now turn on the Email option. Keep in mind that the email used for 2FA email verification will be by default the email address associated to your Crypterium account. If you would like to chance that email address, you’ll have to reach out to our support team via in-app chat.
Click on “Turn on 2FA” to enjoy the safest way to login and authorize transactions. In case you would like to switch off this function, you can do it at anytime.
